Kosha Yoga Teacher Training exceeded my expectations. Participating in the program deepened my practice and helped build my confidence in sharing yoga with others. While the 200-hour training was a lot of work, it was so much fun! I looked forward to each class and appreciate the special community with the other students.” – K.R.

Teachers

Why Kosha Yoga’s Teacher Training?

Perfectly Designed for Teachers, Teachers-to-be, and Yoga Enthusiasts

Kosha Yoga’s Teacher Training is really open to all. While our eight-month program prepares you for teaching yoga to others, it’s NOT necessary to want to teach yoga to benefit from this training.

You will certainly learn your practical yoga skills like alignment and proper body awareness to help you avoid injury, but what you learn beyond the physical is amazing – your willpower, your mental and emotional strength, your ability to focus, to speak in front of people, and to stay calm in stressful situations will be stronger, too.

Dive Deep into Your Practice

Our eight-month journey goes beyond what is required by Yoga Alliance®. You’ll work in a timeframe that allows you to fully digest and incorporate new knowledge and skills into your yoga practice as well as your everyday life. By the end of the program, you’ll have a solid foundation in anatomy, yoga history, yoga philosophy, yoga practice, teaching skills, and business insights.

A Program to Learn Rather Than Teach

Through the teacher training, you’ll start to understand how your unique body works, and how your unique mind works. We don’t give you a script to memorize or answers from a bevy of so-called experts – there are no easy answers to life’s challenges; instead we offer you tools, which will help you make good choices and share your own practice in a way that delivers the benefits of yoga to other people. It’s a program where you develop your own style of teaching yoga.

Flexible Schedules

We understand everyone is busy and that’s why we offer a class schedule that takes place one night a week and two to three Saturdays a month. It suits students who need to balance the yoga training with their career and family life.

Forge New Relationships

There is nothing quite like going through the experience of Kosha Yoga’s yoga teacher training – and those you meet in your training will forever hold a special place in your heart. You learn from each other and understand each other in a very unique way, and there is a good chance that you will make friendships that last a lifetime.

Business of Yoga

The business side of yoga teaching is complicated but essential to success. Kosha Yoga’s teacher training teaches you how to create a unique and sustainable business strategy and marketing plan.

One of our leading teachers and the owner of Kosha Yoga, Carrie Odom, will lead the teaching on the business of Yoga. With an M.B.A. degree at University of Denver and years of experience of successfully managing her own yoga studio, Carrie will use her experience, knowledge, and resources to help students develop their own career paths.

Lea-Ann Born

Lea-Ann took her initial training through the Himalayan Institute and has expanded her studies to include Vinyasa and Anusara. She believes that our bodies are the most extraordinary vehicles for expressing the inner beauty that each of us possesses. You will walk away from her class with more understanding of alignment and the feeling of taking your body to a new level of movement and flow.

Carrie Searles Odom

Carrie enjoys creating the space for students to get in touch with themselves. Carrie has taught yoga since 1995. She received a 500 Yoga Teacher certification from the Rocky Mountain institute of Yoga and Ayurveda (RMIYA) in 2003, a 750 hour Ayurveda and Yoga Therapy certification from RMIYA in 2004, a 500 Structural Yoga Therapy Certification from Mukunda Stiles in 2005. She also studied sanskrit at Naropa University.

Karin Bustamante

Karin believes Yoga is more than physical exercise; it’s a way to strengthen and stretch the body while exploring the reality of mind and spirit. Helping her students rediscover their true nature is her great joy. She has a strong interest in Yoga Nidra (sleep of the Yogi) and the study of Sanskrit. As an experienced registered yoga teacher, E-RYT 500, registered with Yoga Alliance, she constantly deepening her skills.
